Location Origin Story
The rugged Mount Logan, in the immediate foreground sternly towers above the landscape in this image lensed in the late fall before the winter snows begin. If you follow the ridgeline to the immediate upper left of Mount Logan you come to Almost-A-Dog Mountain. Continuing along the ridgeline to the left is Dusty Star Mountain and on the other side of the ridge slightly to the right is Little Chief Mountain.
On the other side of the mountains, you can see a body of water in the distance, this is St. Mary Lake.

About This Photograph
This dark mountainous scene was photographed in the early evening during the month of November while Zedekiah was flying and exploring the Lewis Range in Glacier National Park around Gunsight Mountain.
Image Rarity
The image was taken from a moving aircraft, as Zedekiah piloted the aircraft while simultaneously operating the camera.
Zedekiah used the ending light of the evening as a backdrop, where timing and being in the place-in-space for this scene to reveal itself was crucial to this image composition.
Lastly, it is impossible to simply walk up a trail and take the same photograph again. This image was very difficult to create, and is truly one-of-a-kind, therefore making it extremely rare.
