About This Photograph

This dark mountainous scene was photographed in the afternoon during the month of May while Zedekiah was flying and exploring the San Juan Range of the Rocky Mountains in southern Colorado.

Image Rarity

The image was taken from a moving aircraft, as Zedekiah piloted the aircraft while simultaneously operating the camera.

Storm clouds surrounded the area and he had to take precautions to avoid the clouds and mountains hidden within the clouds.

Zedekiah used the low lying storm clouds as a backdrop, where timing and being in the place-in-space for this scene to reveal itself was crucial to this image composition.

Lastly, it is impossible to simply walk up a trail and take the same photograph again. This image was very difficult to create, and is truly one-of-a-kind, therefore making it extremely rare.
