Rain on the Great Sand Dunes


Clear skies shine bright blue above the rainclouds in these images of the Great Sand Dunes National Park brushed by an unusual localized rainstorm. This interesting phenomenon occurred raining on top of the dunes only, nowhere else in the valley, and there were clear skies above.
The rain clouds were not very thick but were really letting loose equally as spectacular was its timing, lasting a few minutes! This was a localized weather event. For the full story on this image visit the corresponding page on Where Eagles Fly
