Shadows on Logging Lake
Location Origin Story
Bathed in azure blue water from the snowmelt flowing down from the mountains in the Livingston Range above, Logging Lake is dramatically framed in a classic vignette style by the dark shadows of overhead clouds. These rugged mountains paint a wondrous skyline, juxtaposed under the billowing cumulus clouds being pushed to the east by a closing storm.
Nature works its artful magic with sunlight by creating the outlined shape of an arrowhead in the center foreground, pointing towards Wolf Gun Mountain.

About This Photograph
This stunning scene was filmed by Zedekiah from his bush plane early one May morning. Flying and exploring the Livingston Range in the North Fork Valley of the Flathead River.
Image Rarity
The image was taken from a moving aircraft, as Zedekiah piloted the aircraft while simultaneously operating the camera.
It was taken in inclement atmospheric conditions with a combination of low-hanging cumulus clouds rapidly moving storm front that was difficult to maneuver around.
Zedekiah used the manner in which these clouds shrouded the mountains as a backdrop, a scene that is utterly impossible to predict, timing and being in the place-in-space for this scene to reveal itself was crucial to this image composition.
Lastly, it is impossible to simply walk up a trail and take the same photograph again. This image was very difficult to create, and is truly one-of-a-kind, therefore making it extremely rare.
