Location Origin Story

Energetic colors from early morning Alpenglow reflect bright red and orange hues on the bottom of clouds overlooking the Eldorado Mountains on the border between Arizona and Nevada on the Colorado River. The mountains are silhouetted across the horizon at the bottom. As with all morning light shows, this beautiful phenomenon lasted only a short few moments.

About This Photograph

This awakening morning scene was photographed at daybreak during the month of September while Zedekiah was flying and exploring the Mojave Desert and the Eldorado Mountains in southern Nevada.

Image Rarity

The image was taken from a moving aircraft, as Zedekiah piloted the aircraft while simultaneously operating the camera.

This required taking off before daybreak and flying into position as the alpenglow effect began to cascade across the sky.

Zedekiah timed this to be in the correct place in space for this scene to reveal itself was crucial to this image composition.

Lastly, it is impossible to simply walk up a trail and take the same photograph again. This image was very difficult to create, and is truly one-of-a-kind, therefore making it extremely rare.
