This is Zion National Park with numerous beloved locations in this vista, such as the Altar of Sacrifice, the Eastern and Western Temples, Church Mesa, The Sundial, The Sentinel, Mount Kinesava, The Guardian Angles, the southside of Cougar Mountain, and the Inclined Temple all present along the rugged and harsh western walls of this iconic skyline.
About This Photograph
This stunning scene was photographed in the early evening during the month of September while Zedekiah was flying and exploring the Kolob Terrace area near Zion National Park.
Image Rarity
The image was taken from a moving aircraft, as Zedekiah piloted the aircraft while simultaneously operating the camera.
Zedekiah used the ending light of the evening as a light source with the reflections of the vibrant strata.
Timing and being in the place-in-space for this scene to reveal itself was crucial to this image composition.
Lastly, it is impossible to simply walk up a trail and take the same photograph again. This image was very difficult to create, and is truly one-of-a-kind, therefore making it extremely rare.
