Location Origin Story

Crystal blue waters of Camas Creek flow westward through Rogers Meadow in the immediate foreground. Above the meadow, the creek comes down out of Rogers Lake, and above that Trout Lake, which in turn is fed from Arrow Lake, barely visible nestled in the bottom of the valley. Howe Ridge is to the right and above that is Stanton Mountain and the beginning of the Livingston Range with Mount Vaught followed by Heavens Peak which is sticking up into the clouds.

About This Photograph

This beautiful early fall scene was photographed in the early afternoon during the month of September while Zedekiah was flying and exploring the area surrounding the North Fork of the Flathead River, an area locally known as the North Fork Valley.

Image Rarity

The image was taken from a moving aircraft, as Zedekiah piloted the aircraft while simultaneously operating the camera. It was taken in calm atmospheric conditions with a combination of low-hanging cumulus clouds and beautiful shadowing occurring from overhead clouds passing by and the image was photographed. Lastly, it is impossible to simply walk up a trail and take the same photograph again. This image was difficult to create, and is truly one-of-a-kind, therefore making it unique and rare.
